Meet the Team
We took over the Three Tuns in February 2013 and we look forward to welcoming you all to our charming thatched country pub/restaurant set in rural Hertfordshire.
We are both completely hands-on – Neil runs the kitchen and Anita is in charge of front of house – and love to make everyone feel welcome here at the Tuns. During our 25 years working together in the pub trade, we’ve made lifetime friends in our customers – many of whom have a regular order which is on the go as soon as they walk through the door! We take great pride in looking after our patrons, new and old, and it’s our pleasure to do so.
We’re big animal lovers and have three pub dog residents here to keep your furry friends company, along with our dear pub cat, a true OAP at the ripe old age of 25. Anita also enjoys riding her horse, Mr Zen, around our beautiful countryside.
About The Three Tuns
The pub itself dates back to the 16th century and is full of traditional character, with a beautiful open fire place, exposed beams and a relaxed, cosy feel. We became a Freehouse in July 2013 and the pub has been refurbished inside and out.
We have a comfortable main bar area, snug bar, restaurant, beer garden to front and rear, car park, free WiFi and we welcome dogs of all sizes.
Great choice of Real ales on tap which are typically Buntingford Brewery’s award winning Twitchell, Twin Spring from New River Brewery in Hoddeston, Herts and another local ale (selection may vary).
We have a variety of groups which visit us including horse riders, vintage motorbikes, walkers and cyclists.
Our food at The Three Tuns is all about using quality ingredients and locally sourced where possible. Neil prepares and cooks all our dishes himself and takes great pride in his job.
The restaurant is light and comfortable and is great during the summer months and cosy in the winter with a charming log burner to keep you warm.
It is perfect for any special functions you may wish to hold, including birthday parties and christenings
